Show rate is the percentage of booked appointments where the homeowner is actually there when the estimator arrives.
A no-show costs a truck roll and a slot that could have held a real job. Reminder and reschedule sequencing typically moves it more than anything done earlier in the funnel.
It is the least glamorous number in the funnel and often the most movable. Everything upstream, the targeting, the creative, the qualifying, has already been paid for by the time an appointment is on the calendar, so every point of show rate is margin recovered from money already spent.
Most of the gain comes from sequencing rather than effort. A confirmation the moment it is booked, a reminder the day before, and a short one the morning of, with a one-tap reschedule in each, recovers most of what would otherwise be lost. The reschedule link matters as much as the reminder: a homeowner whose day fell apart will silently no-show rather than call to move it.
Who books it is the other half. An appointment the homeowner selected from a calendar shows at a materially higher rate than one a setter chose for them, which is why the booking mechanism belongs in the definition of a qualified appointment rather than being treated as a detail.
